Suddenly it was there: the app Vero. The internet exploded with messages about this new social media app. What is Vero and what can you do with it? What is Vero?
It is striking that we are only now getting to know Vero. The app has been around since 2015. Vero recently announced country email list that it would offer the app for free to the first million users, after which downloads suddenly increased significantly. Creating scarcity still seems to be a powerful persuasion strategy.
They’ve already achieved those first million downloads, but for now the app is still free to download for iOS and Android . In the future, new users will probably have to take out a subscription of some kind.
What makes Vero so special?
Vero distinguishes itself from other social media platforms by not allowing advertisements and by not using algorithms. This is what Vero also calls ‘True Social’. Facebook and Instagram regularly update their algorithms. Much to the annoyance of users. In that respect, Vero’s timing seems good.

What can you share through this new app?
Vero not only offers the possibility to share photos and videos.
