How to manage a remote team

Make your internal communication run like clockwork

Yesterday I gave a talk on “How to Manage a Remote Team” at RemoteCon , Europe’s first remote conference on the topic of remote work . (That’s a lot of remote work!)

I was very proud to present alongside expert speakers like Jason Fried from Basecamp , David Darmanin from Hotjar and Darren Murph from Gitlab. The Q&A session was moderated by Veronica Fresneau from EU-Startups.

Many people have already portugal phone number data requested remote team the slides, so I have decided to make the entire talk and slides available here on the blog in a readable format.

I’ll explain how we work together remotely at Salesflare, with a focus on how to communicate internally to keep everything running smoothly.

Enjoy it!

I am Jeroen Corthout, co-founder of Salesflare .

At Salesflare, we build a more human CRM. It’s actually easy to use, it doesn’t require you to enter all the data you’re used to in CRMs, and it also remote team helps you work better with your customers. In the past, I’ve worked in different how did you get to youtube? what makes this platform so special? roles, in companies, an agency, and a few startup projects. I was usually working on communication issues.

Salesflare serves thousands of small and medium-sized businesses worldwide, but primarily in North America and Europe.

This means that before COVID-19, we were already fully remote with our clients. And we had more than 5 years of experience in this field.

Switching to remote selling? Read how to sell remotely like a pro.

What we had never done, however, was to distance ourselves from our team itself.

We have always believed strongly betting email list in the benefits of being together in the same room: interacting as a real team and as a group of friends in a more intimate way, being next to each other to discuss things more easily, sharing things remote team informally with ease. We believed that being one team in one room gave us an advantage in terms of speed and efficiency.

It was only after we were force to work remotely that. I therefor we realized how dysfunctional our communication had been because it was based on these assumptions.

And I don’t mean it was horrible: every company remote team I’ve worked for in the past has certainly done worse.

But as Salesflare, a company that prides itself on clear and. I therefor comprehensive communication, both internally and externally, we. I therefor certainly had some serious issues to address.
