Happy Birthday 1083!

What a journey we have made with you since our beginnings in 2013. We started from scratch with the dream of selling 100 organic cotton jeans, dyed + woven + made in France. 8 years later, thanks to you, crowdfunding, eco-design, and the relocation of all stages of manufacturing jeans and shoes, reality exceeds the dream… with the creation of more than 150 jobs in France thanks to your orders! And an ever stronger conviction: the more we enjoy consuming turkey email list products full of meaning and quality, the better and less we consume, the more we will create sustainable local jobs.

Here is a retrospective of the milestones that have marked our 8 years of existence:

2013
After creating his first responsible fashion boutique, Modetic in 2007, Thomas encountered delivery problems for the brands he sold and decided to launch his own brand. Jeans, a universal, all-terrain and happy birthday 1083! timeless piece, seemed like an obvious choice. He created the 1083 brand thanks to a crowdfunding campaign on Ulule and opened the online store 1083.fr, to offer you products made in France less than 1083 km from your home!

2014
To complement the jeans manufacturing capabilities of our partner ba leads Création Anaïs in Marseille, we have created our own manufacturing workshop in Romans-sur-Isère. This city being the capital of footwear, 1083 develops collections of eco-designed sneakers and sandals !

2015
French manufacturing is at the heart of our approach, which is Happy Birthday why we are proud to have obtained the first Origine France Garantie label on our jeans. This label assures consumers of the traceability of our products by indicating their origin in complete transparency. The same year, we launched a range of organic cotton T-shirts, always made locally!

2016
Since cotton production is almost non-existent in France, we thought about a way to obtain this raw material locally by launching the MonCoton project, to produce cotton in France by recycling old jeans.

2017
Committed to a fashion that is as locally sourced and sustainable as possible, we have embarked on the renovation of an old shuttle loom for weaving selvedge jeans. At the same time, we have acquired the first laser machine in France that allows jeans to be washed without water, chemicals or sandblasting!

2018

Team 1083 takes over

The spinning and weaving activities of Valrupt Industries in Rupt-sur-Moselle, which becomes Tissage de France and thus saves the know-how and 30 jobs of one of the last spinning and weaving factories in France. It is also the year of the opening of our Parisian boutique, rue de Turenne and the launch of the Volontaire recycled collection in collaboration with the Firefighters.
